Christopher David Tromly, 19, departed this life on May 23, 2002, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA.  He was born December 23, 1982, in Hampton, VA.

Christopher is survived by his parents, Lt. Col. Gene A. Tromly, USMC, (Retired) and Barbara M. Tromly; a sister, Michelle; and two brothers, Brian and Kevin.

A lifelong resident of Hampton, he graduated from Kecoughtan High School with highest honors in 2001.  He was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, German Club, and the Varsity Soccer and Cross Country Teams.

Christopher received an academic scholarship to Old Dominion University and had just completed his freshman year on the Dean's List.  He joined the Virginia Army National Guard in March of this year and was to shortly start his basic training at Fort Sill, OK.  He aspired to become an Artillery Officer and looked forward to completing his last two years at ODU on an Army ROTC scholarship.

Christopher had two passions in life, soccer and his girlfriend, Rebecca Morris, a student who attends the University of Virginia.  For the last two years, they were inseparable.  He played on numerous recreational and select soccer teams and was a four-year member of the Kecoughtan High School varsity team.    He volunteered to be an assistant  soccer coach under head coach John Bailey.
